Hurricane Katrina Screensaver

Around 125 images of the Mississippi Gulf Coast! See Senator Lott's Pascagoula remains...

The Mississippi Gulf Coast...

was all but forgotten after Hurricane Katrina. Despite the worst storm surge to hit the Gulf Coast in the recorded history of weather, the people of the MS Gulf Coast have pulled together to restore their communities and their lives.

This screensaver shows about 125 pictures of the MS Gulf Coast from Waveland to Pascagoula. A portion of each sale goes to the East Biloxi relief efforts. East Biloxi was one of the hardest hit areas. A natural peninsula, East Biloxi was totally submerged in storm surge- an event that has never occurred in the almost 300 years of recorded history in East Biloxi!

Screen saver includes picture of Senator Trent Lott's House (or Lot rather- there is no house and no pun intended)

Screensaver features!

You can change the time between the slides, you can change whether they are randomly displayed or sequentially displayed, you can choose six different transitions between the slides all from your normal windows screensaver menu. The image quality was excellent when taken and that was saved when we converted them to screensaver images! Some of these images are not available anywhere else on the web or in books.

Each image is notated and dated- letting you know where it was taken and what day! A lot has been cleaned up on the Coast- but it will be years before it is totally repaired.

Who Are We?

Lucky ones, we tell everyone. My sister and her husband and four kids lost their entire house. Gone- not there any longer. My brothers' apartment complex was washed away to the slab as well. My wife and I and our two kids were lucky. We rode out the storm with 4 other families in our house. Six houses West and six houses South had to swim out in the morning of the storm. The water came to our front yard but stopped before getting any closer than 25' to the house. We didn't even know the water had risen that much since our house was boarded up! Blessed- that is how we describe ourselves. We've so many friends and family members that lost so much. But they'll be OK. The spirit of the MS Gulf Coast is one like no other. I am a computer engineer, I work for an Architect (My Dad)- you can check out our firm's website at www.fbwalker.com. My wife works for Project Recovery and is the East Biloxi team leader.
